Rally Demonstration by Bark Valley Dog Club

Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10:30 AM

Rally is a fairly new dog sport that allows the handler and dog to move at their own pace through an obstacle course with 10-20 stations depending on the level. At each station, a sign tells the handler what exercise the dog must perform ( i.e. sit, down, walk around cones, down and stay before continuing course, run etc). In Novice Rally, the dog is kept on a leash and unlimited verbal encouragement by the handler is allowed. Rally was developed as a bridge between the Canine Good Citizen's Test and obedience.
